Lyric Sync Timer: Hold a Key While Each Line Is Sung, Get Start and End Times for a Lyric Video

The short answer

The fastest way to time lyrics for a lyric video is to play the song once and hold a key for each line: press on the first word, release after the last. That gives every line a start and an end in one pass. This tool does that in the browser, lets you fix any line by hand afterwards, and exports the times as timing.txt, LRC, SRT, JSON or CSV for whatever renders the video.

Paste your lyrics, load the song, and hold the space bar (or the button on a phone) while each line is sung. Letting go marks where the line ends, so lines with space between them get a real start and a real finish instead of one guessed tap. Export timing.txt, LRC, SRT, JSON or CSV. Nothing uploads anywhere; the song plays in your browser only.

Slowing the song down makes it easier to catch each line; the times still come out in real seconds. The reaction offset is subtracted from every press and release, because most people land 100–150 ms late on both.
